Binding Opinion of the Labour Office

Within the proceedings for employee card validity extension, the Ministry of the Interior requires a so called Binding Opinion of the Labour Office of the respective county branches or branches in the capital of Prague. With regard to the current situation of the labour market, relevant branch evaluates, whether further employment of the particular foreigner should be permitted, and issues appropriate opinion.

An approving opinion is required for the further extension of an employment card. If a negative opinion is issued, the application may be rejected.

The Labour Office issues a binding opinion within 15 days of receiving the requirement from the Ministry of the Interior. If no binding opinion is issued within the said time-limit, it is deemed that the Labour Office agrees to the employment of the foreigner.
